Acceptable Use Policy

The Acceptable Use Policy of the Wyoming Free Library is a part of the overall policy structure of the Library.
Users should be aware that not all sources on the Internet provide accurate, complete or current information. The Library denies any responsibility for the accuracy or quality of information obtained. The library urges patrons to be informed consumers and carefully evaluate information obtained via the Internet.
The Internet is a global electronic network, its resources contain a variety of materials, and opinions that may be considered controversial or offensive to some Library patrons. The Wyoming Free Library has no control over the information patrons access via the Internet. It is not possible or within the role of the Library staff to monitor users. Internet users should be aware that viewing certain materials in the public Library might be considered improper in time, place or manner. They must respect the rights of other Library patrons not to be inadvertently exposed to materials and images, which could be considered offensive. The Library reserves the right to end an internet session at any time if it is creating a disturbance.
Material is available on the Internet, which parents may feel is inappropriate for their children. Parents of minor children must assume the responsibility for their children's use of the Internet. Parents or guardian, not the Library or its staff is responsible for the information accessed by children. Parents are required to sign a permission waiver for those under the age of sixteen (16) who wish to use the Internet connection of the Library and are encouraged to supervise their children's Internet sessions.
The Internet connection of the Library may be used only for lawful purposes. Transmission of any materia in violation of any U.S. or state regualtion is prohibited. This includes, but is not limited to copyrighted material and threatening or obscene material. Internet users agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Wyoming Free Library from any claims resulting from their use of the service, which damaged the user or another party.
users will be held financially responsible for any damage or alteration to wquipment, or failure to follow any of these guidelines including failure to abide by the time limits, will result in loss of Internet privileges.
All Internet users are expected to follow the rules set forth by the Wyoming Free Library regarding use of public access computer stations within the Library. These rules are subject to change without notice. Copies are available at the Circulation Desk and will be clearly posted.
